Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles available, but there has to be something which you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something which triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, what was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Consider your life because it appears to be these days when it comes to the story. How can we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So once we speak about the past stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon all of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s similar to making a big house of cards, stacking on one card after the other. Then a good wind occurs and poof, it’s only blown over. It can’t even stand a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon anything else; all those items that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It really comes down seriously to the essence of who’s my buddy? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this 1?So you are asking the question, a course in miracles “When someone dies or appears to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will show you is that everything is mental and that everything is just a hallucination. This is an environment of ideas and what we call manifest reality, isn’t reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to create his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the bond between thought and form. His lessons start with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I’ve given everything I see all this is it’s for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way around number 4, “These thoughts don’t mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s talking about thoughts. First He’s talking about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes back with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts don’t mean anything.” You can see he’s attempting to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, which will be trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there’s no such thing as time, to take us back to that timeless moment that’s the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us they are all illusions and they are all equally meaningless. That’s the way of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with your brain to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What kind of things can you invest in, these days?
